Dental Implants

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a new tooth “root”. It is gently and precisely placed into the bone to replace a missing tooth or to fix a loose denture. The implant is accepted due to its’ inert nature – a process called “integration”. The implant becomes more firmly attached to the bone than a natural tooth.

Dental Implants are the most natural form of tooth replacement available. It is not necessary to damage other teeth in order to provide a “false” tooth as when a bridge is made. It is also possible to avoid wearing dentures, although implants can be used to firmly retain an otherwise troublesome denture.
